Here I am surfing the ‘net, and I come across this site: Sports Propaganda.

It seems that artist Chris Speakman makes old-timey propaganda posters/ prints out of baseball players (not LITERALLY out of baseball players, I’m sure he uses paper. Actual baseball players would be all messy and if he used actual Mets, they’d be all greasy and full of tears too.). All the artwork is fully licensed by the MLB and prices seem very reasonable.

All-in-all this guy’s operation is pretty bush-league . Especially considering there’s no less than FOUR Phillies prints. That’s pretty cool coming from a company based out of Boston. No doubt he’s a stinking Sox fan (I kid. I actually like the Sox, except when they’re playing the Fightin’s. Now Sox fans, they’re another story, I’m sure they’re nice people and all, I just can’t get past that wicked-hardcore accent.). The only thing I don’t like is, there is no print of Carlos Ruiz or Charlie Manuel. I get it, he picked the pretty Phils (maybe not Howard so much - again I kid). I also don’t like that the World Series Print is sold out already. I would have bought that shit toot sweet. So if you’re reading this Chris and you want to hook up a guy who’s plugging your site unsolicited, you can. I won’t say no.

Anyway, check out the site and order up some Phillies posters for your home or office or locker or whatever. Just buy some stuff off this guy, I like what he does and his prints are great.

As I was working today I was sad to hear that Harry Kalas has died. He is the voice of the Phillies and will be missed. As he was getting ready for todays game in the booth he passed out. Then after being rushed to the hospital they called him around 1:20. He will be missed my heart goes out to his family and the  Phillies…
