So this morning I was not working, instead I was lying in bed and the doorbell rings. Who the hell is at my door on a Sunday morning? I throw some clothes on an ran downstairs only to be greeted by my friendly neighborhood Speedy Brothers Telegram delivery boy. Today, rather than a telegram he was holding a retro looking package wrapped in brown paper and tied with a string. Could this be the package that the telegram was referring to?

I quickly ripped open the packaging and to my surprise was a weathered looking masquerade mask in the shape of a crows beak, exactly like the ones worn by some of the splicers in the game. In addition to the mask as a typed letter from Mr Mark Meltzer. The letter is exactly the same as the one found on 2k’s viral site to the left of the typewriter.

Moments later I received phone calls from friends who also received the packages below are their contents

For those who haven’t noticed the letter on the site, the letter reads:

Dear Friend:

Phil Isidore (of N.U.F.O.S.) has vouched that you are a trustworthy individual. Please - closely guard the contents of this package. I have sent it direct via courier out of concern that gov’t personnel or unknown individuals may attempt to intercept it.

As you may know, I have been investigating anomalous phenomena related to the disappearence of my daughter. In the past, you’ve provided information that has helped my research. Now I need your input in a matter of utmost urgency.

I discovered the enclosed item in basement workshop owned by Orrin Oscar Lutwidge. I am desperately trying to uncover more regarding it’s origin, manufacture, etc. Please examine it and let me know what you make of it.

Any information could help me find my daughter.

So it goes without saying that the marketing team behind Bioshock 2 is going way above and beyond what could be considered “full immersion”. Between the record and the fellow in the Speedy Brothers delivery costume,  we here at NW23 were floored with how well they’re trying to stay in character. The fact that they had the courier show back up and deliver such an elaborate gift is way beyond what could be expected. The sheer quality of these masks is outstanding.
